Health - January 27 - 31
Unit - Communicable Diseases
My goal is to provide students with the knowledge needed to make better decisions about their health/wellness habits. Students will learn how to choose positive alternatives to risky behaviors; use skills to resist peer pressure; and learn ways to manage stress and anxiety. Students are able to relate healthy choices (e.g., nutritional and physical activity) to alertness, feelings, and performance at school or during physical activity. Students exhibit a healthy lifestyle, interpret health information, and promote good health.
Supplies: Loose leaf paper, pen/pencil, 3 prong folder (optional)
Classroom Rules:
Grading: Students Health grade is based on assignments, class participation, and projects given in class. Most work is done in class as we have a classroom set of textbooks. Our students are able to access our Teen Health textbook online at: www.glencoe.com/ose, just type in the access code: A410A864E2
Videos: Many times during a typical Health week, students will enjoy an informational video that goes along with the topic of discussion for that week. These videos are always health-related and age-appropriate with topics such as physical fitness, sports injuries, nutrition, calories and food labels.
RESPECT YOUR CLASSMATE'S RIGHT TO LEARN AND YOUR TEACHER'S RIGHT TO TEACH BY REFRAINING FROM DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR!
